Armed raid at Linton post office

A knife-wielding robber threatened staff and made off with cash at a Northumberland Post Office.

The raid happened around 3.05pm yesterday when the man went into Linton Post Office on Third Row, Linton, near Morpeth.

A female member of staff was threatened with a knife before the robber stole a quantity of cash and made off from the scene on a bike.

Although left shocked, the member of staff was not hurt.

The robber is described as in his late teens to early 20s, of slim build and around 5' 5" to 5'6" tall.

He was wearing a grey or black woollen hat and dark, possibly black clothing.

Any witnesses should contact police in Morpeth on 0345 6043043 ext 63526.
