Remembrance Day events in Morpeth

Morpeth's Remembrance Sunday service and parade in 2003Morpeth is preparing to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice made by its forces' personnel during wartime.

Morpeth's Remembrance Sunday service and parade will be held on November 8.

The parade will start at 10.35am at Morpeth Town Hall and make its way to the cenotaph on Castle Bank for the wreath laying ceremony and service at 10.55am.

Following the national anthem and thanks by the Royal British Legion the parade will return to the town hall.

On Wednesday November 11 people in Morpeth town centre will be asked to observe a two-minute silence starting at 11am. It will be preceded by the Last Post.

On the same day an annual Armistice Day ceremony will take place at County Hall, Morpeth, with members of the ex-services community from around the county. Members of the public wishing to be a part of this ceremony should be at County Hall by 10:30 on the morning of 11th November
