Lions launch Morpeth Concert
Whilst many Morpeth Lions Club events are tried, tested and remain popular, a newcomer is about to appear.
In conjunction with Lemington Male Voice Choir, a concert is being organised. This will take place on Saturday, April 16th in St.George's United Reformed Church starting at 7pm.
Tickets are priced at £8 and can be obtained from Stait Photography, Morpeth, Lion Harry Cone (Tel 01670 511540) or any other Morpeth Lions Club member. They will also be available at the door on the night of the concert.
Organising Lion Harry Cone said 'Lemington Male Voice Choir enjoys an international reputation. It was formed in 1946 by choristers from the local churches. The majority of its concerts are given in support of other charities and good causes. It has as its President the locally born and renowned Bass, Graeme Danby.
The Morpeth Concert will include 'Songs from the Shows' and there should also be songs to suit every taste. In addition, the Performing Arts Group from Sunderland and Northumbria Universities will be participating in the Concert. Their performances in each half of the Concert will be of an energetic and light nature that should ensure the audience enjoy plenty of variety.
I hope the community will give this event its full support and help Morpeth Lions Club raise funds to meet local needs.'
