Join our Gardening Team for this hands-on workshop to discover the secrets of propagation and take the fruits of your labour back to your own garden. You may even get the chance to propagate some of the plants in the Wallington Garden!

Sunday 13 May, 10.00 am - 5.00 pm
Join award-winning landscape photographer David Taylor for a day's exploration of Wallington through the camera lens. This workshop will focus on macro and flower photography, and take full advantage of the walled garden, conservatory and woodland. This friendly and supportive workshop is open to enthusiastic photographers of all abilities, and will encourage them to make progress with their photography both technically and creatively. Although a macro lens will be useful, it is not essential: one of the aims of the day will be to enable participants to get the most out of their own camera equipment, and David will have a limited supply of spare equipment for participants to borrow.

Forest Fun
Sunday 13 May, 10.00 am - 2.00pm
Follow in the footsteps of the Trevelyan children who loved to play outdoors and get out in the wild and have lots of fun learning woodland skills like fire making, shelter building, and tool making. Fun for big kids! Age 14 +. £10.

Sunday 6 & Monday 7 May, 11.00 am - 4.00 pm
March back in time to the Imperial Age as Comitatus take over Wallington! Watch Roman soldiers put through their paces, complete with Latin drill, missile competitions and combat sparring and marvel at the Cavalry squadron as they display their power and skill on horseback! You can also stroll through the camp to discover all about life in Roman times and see traditional crafts being demonstrated.

Enjoy a unique performance offering an enchanting insight into the creation of beauty in Georgian portraits by Reynolds and Gainsborough, revealing the secrets of the artist's studio and some utterly sumptuous costumes. Normal admission charges apply.
A Tale of Two Dresses

Explore our exhibition unpicking the threads of a 250 year old mystery surrounding two society beauties, two famous artists and one dress, as our well-loved portrait of Suky Trevelyan is joined by the portrait of the Countess of Dysart on a special visit from Ham House. Normal admission charges apply.
North Tyneside Pipe Band

Uncover the story of the infamous portrait of Sir Walter Calverley Blackett's niece Suky Trevelyan as we bring the saga up-to-date and reveal the latest information about this fascinating portrait.

Bat Walk

Join us for a walk around the woods with bat detectors to find out about bat ecology and see what bats we can find. Adult £4, child £2 and family £10. Wear warm clothing and bring a torch and a flask!

A fun event for all the family to mark St George's Day! Meet our very own knight in shining armour, try on helmets and chainmail and learn to be a knight at Knight School. Have a go at painting your own shield and join our quest through the woods!

Wild Walk at Wallington - Foraging with Wild Harmony
Sunday 22 April, 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
Take a walk on the wild side and join our wild food expert on a special guided walk on the Wallington Estate looking out for seasonal wild food and learning how to use it! Age 10+ Adult £15, child £7.50 and family (2 adults and 2 children) £35. Wear waterproofs and boots and bring a packed lunch, hot drink and a sense of humour!
