Lindsey McKeown, age 15, from Morpeth, sent in these pictures of some strong colours flowering in her garden in the heat of the summer.
Hopefully the chilled grips of winter are now behind us, and the first shoots of green are becoming more abundant with signs of new life springing up all around us. The hibernating fly fishers are also becoming restless to set foot onto the banks of our north-east rivers, as the brown trout season gets underway on the 22nd March.
